Virtually nothing is known about Katsag's life prior to becoming [[Murdoh|Davee-Murdoh]] to Maird after his father married [[Maye Seaoor]] in order to secure peace. Maird was not and never became [[Tonaran|Tonaran's]] vassal region and Katsag's power was capped by Seaoor's interests. Based on his correspondence with Maksag, Katsag accepted his role and became part of the family. This allowed his children to assume power: his daughter Meenasag (b.1538) became the [[Hogloh_vy_Aanua#Gole|Gole]] of Maird and his son Duhroonsag (b. 1530) became Jeen and then Jeenor. Meenasag felt it useful to consider herself as part of Oordars when it suited her interests and supported Rodare's ascension in 1593 [[dantrian_calendar|SR]].

This was especially true for Tonaran, with the Darman family being concerned that Maird is scheming to overthrow their power and install an Oordar to rule the fortress. To eliminate this scenario, Tos Darman pushed for formal diplomatic relations with Maird and arranged a marriage between his daughter Palesta and the Mel-Mel-Gole of Maird, Brynt Bloorynoh. The marriage did not happen due to the fall of Tonaran mere months after the arrangement.
