Barmijanj (also Birmijanj, Barmi-yent, Barambijanj) was one of the first Dawn settlements that developed into a large metropolis in Gantolia. Known as the "Ancient Well" (full phrase is "Balat Flamont Bali Gydai" - "Ancient Well of the earth"), Barmijanj became one of key political and cultural centers in the 18th CFR.

In the middle of the 19th CFR when the movement to upend the representative governments across Gantolia failed, leading to a number of uprisings, politicians largely moved out of Barmijanj. This led to an almost immediate loss of influence, with a large number of the population emigrating from the city in the next couple of decades.

However, Barmijanj's influence increased after The Last Stand, when large number of people passed through the city, making it widely known across Gantolia, Yammoe and Tarnaria.
