Oordar causal loop

Oordar causal loop is a phenomenon that took place between 1513 and 1593 SR, changing the course of history by creating the Oordar clan.

The loop was made possible by the superhero warrior Farnole who in 1593 transported Rodare Oordar and his whole army to 1513, also shifting them 350 km to the west, leading them to conquer Tonaran. Tonaran was considered to be an impenetrable fortress at the time, but Rodare and army thought it was the much weaker Kamey-Yr. Rodare Oordar then took the name of Kren Oordar and created the Oordar proto-empire, mostly owing to his foreknowledge of the future. This, in turn, led to the events that unfolded in 1593 and had Farnole send Rodare into the past, closing the loop.

Timeline of the loop

The nature of causal loops means that any event in the loop can be used as a beginning, since the looped causality will lead through the whole chain regardless of where one starts. However, it is customary to start with Rodare Oordar.

Similar relative locations of Kamey-Yr and Orden on the bank of Taverda, and Tonaran and Lyn on the bank of Erna made it possible for Rodare to believe that he is still in the same place.

This is a timeline of the most important events of the Oordar causal loop.

  • 1593 Rodare Oordar approaches Orden with the goal of defeating Hee, Iar and Pherro.
  • Hee learns that a superhero warrior by the name of Farnole lives in Orden and convinces her to vanish Rodare and his approaching army.
  • 1513 Rodare and his army are transported 80 years back in time, as well as shifted geographically to the area of the city of Lyn.
  • Rodare occupies Lyn, but to his surprise finds neither the Oordar brothers, nor their uncle. Thinking that they have outmaneuvered him and went back to Kamey-Yr, he goes back up north.
  • Rodare's army approaches Tonaran at night. Believing this is Kamey-Yr, they attack the city, taking it by surprise and overtaking the city two days later.
  • During the battle Rodare is critically injured and is saved by a soldier named Maksag. Rodare makes him Jeenor, the commander-in-chief of his army.
  • Maksag is a foreigner from a small northern town called Kren, and is concerned that his authority in Tonaran is going to be questioned. Rodare then takes the name Kren in honor of Maksag's hometown, while giving him his last name and proclaiming them to be brothers. Thus, Rodare Oordar becomes Kren Oordar and Maksag becomes Maksag Oordar.
  • 1513-1522 Maksag subjugates Ernele, Or, Qep and Maird.
  • 1522 Kren knows that at some point in history there would be an uprising in Or, but as he grew up in Mantar, he is not aware of the details. This forces Maksag to preemptively increase military presence in Or, which increases tension and ends up leading to the uprising which might have not otherwise happened.
  • 1533 Mantar falls under Oordar rule, which turns out to be the last land conquered by Oordars.
  • 1542 and 1543 Nilma Oordar, Maksag's son, becomes ruler of Mantar. Kren the Younger, Kren's son, becomes ruler of Tonaran and head of the family.
  • 1547 Kren convinces his son to remove Nilma from power, because he fears that Nilma is going to kill Kren the Younger. This makes Kren the Younger Nilma's lifelong enemy and leads to Nilma's coup in 1593.
  • 1593 Hee and Iar kidnap Pherro. Kren the Younger agrees to exchange him for the city of Orden. This allows Nilma to use the situation to question Kren the Younger's authority.
  • 1593 Kren the Younger is murdered on the orders of Nilma. His son Rodare assumes power. Pherro changes sides and joins Hee and Iar against Rodare.
  • 1593 Rodare immediately marches west in order to punish the brothers and their uncle. He is expected at Orden, but shows up at Kamey-Yr, chasing Iar's forces through the streets of the city and forcing them to retreat south. He then follows them to Orden.
  • 1593 Rodare Oordar approaches Orden with the goal of defeating Hee, Iar and Pherro.

The causal loop repeats.
