Eternal Companion is the name given to the space station “Arduous IV”, which appears to ahldoreans as the brightest star in the sky. It is an integral part of ahldoraean religions and cosmology. It is considered to be a first name and should be used without the "the" preposition.
Typically signified as a 12-pointed star, Eternal Companion is a frequent occurrence on flags, designs and pictures. Many Earth scientists draw parallels between Eternal Companion and the Moon. Just like the Moon is a prominent part of Earth's culture, so is Eternal Companion to the inhabitants of the Continent.
Eternal Companion is helpful in orientation, due to the fact that “Arduous IV” is in geostationary orbit and is always in the same spot on the sky.
