Gods of Mercy

Gods of Mercy was a state religion in Loodon and then Loodon Empire. It worshiped a set of unnamed gods which were viewed both as grim oppressors of humanity, instigators of unfairness and needless death, and saviors of humanity from said oppression and unfairness. They were called Gods of Mercy, because death was considered to be the ultimate act of mercy that would remove all the suffering.

In spite of the ominous tone of the theology, Gods of Mercy became the foundation of a rich and highly hopeful culture and its storytelling and musical influence is strong to this day, including the tradition of the Firetam Festvals of Leykaron.
