The jumps between the worlds are enabled by rare artifacts, known as [[Dream Seed|Dream Seeds]], and the historian was able to track one down, which created the bizarre connection. The Chronicler explains that the connection is one-directional and his counterpart is not aware of his other life or the Earth, but that he sees yet another world in his own dreams.
