However, their settlements began to suffer from regular raids of [[Teamatian chiefdoms]] and their progress deeper into the eastern part of the Continent was temporarily prevented by [[the Great Turtle]]. It was later discovered that [[Yammoe]] used its secret representatives to manufacture a conflict between the New Dawn settlers and the Great Turtle, meanwhile uniting the previously scattered tribes into a single force under Daur Megeg, a chief of one of the larger tribes. This led to the beginning of the [[Great Turtle War]] that lasted for about a century and became the primary reason for the formation of the confederation of [[Darda]], the goal of which was to defend and facilitate the colonization of the east.

This allowed Darda to gain an important ally in its indirect war with Yammoe, that meanwhile used its covert operative group [[Puhntuss]] to create a puppet state called [[Xornerian]] in order to increase its foothold in the region. Puhntuss then instigated a number of conflicts in the region in order to keep the powers divided and busy.
