'''Girag''' /'gɪrʌg/ is a class of non-sweet alcoholic beverages brewed from cereal grains. It's probably the oldest type of beverage on the [[Continent]].

In the past girag was also referred to as [[pranl]], but with the success of sweet pranl, created by the Udds family, sweet girags began to be called pranls, and non-sweet girags retained the girag moniker.

Girag is a famous drink and an important source of nutrition, although it is less famous than pranl and is generally considered to be a more formal beverage, customary at official functions. Some girags are especially bitter and acquiring a taste for them might be a sign of maturity.
