Peelee /piː'liː/ was the first major city of Toor built by Sopoh Dolysoh. The construction of the royal palace was led by Bonten, Sopoh's right-hand man. It was located at the foot of the Gaajmas mountain range.

Peelee was already widely known as the northern center within merely a decade of its founding, with its twin-towered palace becoming the symbol of the new kingdom. By 1778, however, Peelee experienced two avalanches, with the second one burying a lot of the city, resulting in the famous painting, showing two palace towers sticking out of the snow. This was a huge embarrassment for Sopoh, as it became clear that Peelee's location must be changed. This was awkward for two reasons: state missionaries promoted Peelee as the location where one is more likely to lead a righteous life, and Sopoh was depicted as the visionary. Thus, admitting that the location of the city was a mistake would seriously undermine Sopoh's narrative, a narrative that he spent two decades reinforcing.

Due to this and other reasons, Sopoh was murdered by his son Opol and Peelee was abandoned. Bonten ended up building the city of Gaskal slightly father away from Gaajmas, and served as its Murdoh under Opol's rule. Interestingly enough, Peelee was still routinely mentioned in surviving documents during Opol's reign, which means that the location was not immediately abandoned. It is possible that Opol had similar concerns as his father and did not want to officially admit that the location was chosen incorrectly: even if he would claim that Sopoh was wrong, but he, Opol, is right, that might diminish Ydoh Rol's standing, as well as the religious reputation of the Dolysoh dynasty.

According to Porteek, Peelee was mentioned in the Great Lore, in the Stron Ydoh Rol (Song of the Edge of the World).

Later significance

The establishment of the Kingdom of Mamkoon elicited only muted reactions in Ydoh Rol, as the region was traditionally Xaewoon Blue. However, a small sect formed at the end of the 19th CSR calling themselves Guardians of Ydoh Rol (in some versions Soldiers of Ydoh Rol) and declared war on the Kingdom of Mamkoon. The exact origins of the sect are not known and there exists some controversy regarding whether they were ever based in Ydoh Rol itself. Moefal and Torka contend that they actually came from a neighboring area, somewhere between Palas and Dol.

Guardians of Ydoh Rol attempted to finance a campaign against the Kingdom of Mamkoon. They were never able to do so, but in the process spread an ultra-traditional and somewhat revisionist take on the establishment of Ydoh Rol as the only true Mamkoon, along with designating Peelee as the holy city that should be rebuilt. These views ended up becoming quite prominent in the region of Dol and in many respects have remained the dominant sentiment in cities like Olonoh and Qor.
