It is theorized that the gift of insight creates a sort of an optical illusion for both the legendaries themselves and the people around them: legendaries' intuitive perception of life's complex mechanisms infuses everything they do with a sense of divine necessity, since they feel that they are destined to be involved in one thing or another simply by fact of subconsciously knowing the general outcome. This might also explain why they never truly get involved, but assume more of a consulting role. Even as rulers, they tend to be in the shadows, observing life around them, but never really feeling as a part of it.
