Barzo was an early town set up by the New Dawn travelers. It grew into a large city by the 17th CSR and was considered a gateway into the east, usually being the last stop when crossing into Darda.

Situated on the banks of Rener river and its tributary Ruran, Barzo adopted the bleak, rugged style of makeshift architecture, characteristic of Duls Settlements, and enjoyed the same level of harsh arid climate.
