Maksag, sometimes referred to as Maksag Ginsag, was the older brother of the superhero warrior Ginsag.

As Ginsag required all family members to qualify for receiving a portion of his political power, Maksag was helped by a Mosont administrator Trevo Gont.

Trevo, the right-hand man of Elsk Normo, the previous governor of Mosont, quickly changed sides when Ginsak murdered Elsk. But he plotted a coup with the city's elite that Elsk helped get wealthy. However, seeing that Ginsag's rule wasn't turning out so bad for him, Trevo betrayed his co-conspirators and brought this information to Maksag, knowing full well that this would help him.

Maksag uncovered the plot to Ginsag. As a result of this, Ginsag rewarded Maksag with soldiers and land. Maksag would go on to build a Maksag City on the banks of the Taverda river.

Maksag outlived Ginsak by two years and died in 1707 SR a powerful and respected man. He had many children, but none of them seemed to have survived the invasion of Tref.
