Develor was mentioned in several historical accounts, as well as in several well known myths of the early Zombon, which at the time was a network of villages and bore the name of Zamborana Zambonia. Although no specific abilities are mentioned in these accounts, Develor is referred to as a superhero warrior that leads his/her people into battle. Develor's gender is also never explicitly mentioned.

One of the most popular ancient songs, which is part of the Zamborana Canon is called "The Mighty Volcano". The song is about showing the enemy who is the real victor and referring to the volcano which is the Mighty Develor, who will burst unexpectedly.

The memory of Develor has survived to this day in the form of a saying "You don't want to anger Develor", which is equivalent to "Don't push your luck".
