Drufos Lador was the king of Ari who replaced Mardis. He is notable for having started his career as a poet and having killed Rufu Aoa in battle in 1674.

Early life

Drufos claimed to have been born in Tarif and frequently told stories about his life in Tarif. In spite of this, all available records only document his life in Garon.

According to Drufos, he arrived to Garon, having escaped the boring life of his wealthy family in Tarif. He then began living a challenging life of poverty on the streets of the city and became known as a poet and storyteller. The themes of his stories focused on the glory of the old kings, on the restoration of their power and a return to a traditional way of life.

He became a popular figure in the opposition movement, which saw Mardis as the leader of the insurrection against Rufu Aoa. Mardis was largely considered an illegitimate ruler outside of Ari. When Drufos claimed to have come from a noble family in Tarif, he became one of the contenders to the throne, someone who would put an end to the civil war.
