Twin kings of Astauand

Twin kings of Astauand were the two sons of King Javel of Astauand, Karnt and Rhadr. Initially having shown themselves to be violent and disinterested not only in governing, but also in meaningful conquest, the twins ended up being one of the most consequential leaders of the Continent's 6th century history, and defined the political landscape, as well as War, for decades to come.

Biography

The birth of the twins was celebrated at Astauand as the fulfillment of the King's Prophecy which designated King Javel as the Right Hand of God, the highest religious title an individual can attain according to the theology.

Their childhood had been meticulously documented by the Royal Scribes into a Book of the New Age, a principal scripture source for the Ascension of God. The book contains a record of each of their days for 15 years, a period after which, according to the scriptures, they entered adulthood.

This marked the change in their lives in that they were finally allowed access to the outside world, which included them going through the Ceremony of Appearance in front of millions of spectators. The ceremony also presented their names for the first time to be Karnt and Rhadr.

Their next several years are commonly described by historians as having revealed them to be "violent, unpredictable and very much unlike their father". Both Karnt and Rhadr led a number of small-scale conquests, which is a customary way to introduce young princes to the art of war, but their performances have been vapid.

Peace Congress

Peace Congress was set for 511. By this time King Javel was not only extremely old, but also probably suffered from dementia, which made him unstable: he seemed his old self at one time, but would become delusional with no warning.

That meant that either Karnt or Rhadr had to attend the Congress.
