The Negy occupied the mountainous territory between Dol and a mountain chain known today as Negal (Negy Chain). They shared this territory with the [[Oaleed]], although Oaleed preferred to live closer to the Quoon North river.

As he helped defeat several of the Oaleed tribes in the area, his influence grew. However, the Negy had a strict hierarchical system of elders, and Oskodon's increasing authority was considered by many to be disrespectful to the tradition.
