Central Dantria
Central Dantria was an ancient kingdom in the west, comprising the Western Dantrian civilization along with Western Dantria, Land and Wunnah. It was initially called Dantria.
After a series of successful conquests, Dantria expanded its territory to the south and entered into a prolonged conflict with the Kingdom of Tameen. Eventually, Dantria prevailed, but Tameen retained a large part of its autonomy. Over the course of the next century Tameen outplayed Dantria politically and economically, and became the de facto power in the region. By the 12th CSR it officially became Western Dantria, and Dantria became Central Dantria.
Central Dantria is typically labeled as the cultural ancestor of the Western Dantrian civilization, despite losing its hegemony to Western Dantria. Known for its scholarship, advanced architecture and technology, Central Dantria's knowledge was then integrated into the wealthy society of Western Dantria that built such metropolises as Tavoe, Kalchinge, Walneer and Gungon.
Eventually, however, Central Dantria began to fall in decline, which resulted in massive outflow of its population to Western Dantria and powered the New Dawn, a wave of migration to the east across the Ouna desert. Internally, the country began experiencing a rise in violence, corruption and increased competition with Western Dantria and Wunnah, alongside authoritarian and increasingly isolationist Land.
Central Dantria came to a bitter end when the superhero warrior Lydian's army of the undead destroyed most of the country. In the immediate aftermath of Lydian's conquests, Land seized the opportunity and began to eat into the territory of former Central Dantria, rebuilding Gun Den and becoming a regional power by the end of the 2nd century.
Central Dantria's rich history created the basis for the old kings sentiment, frequently used in the first couple of centuries after the New Dawn to add legitimacy to a ruling family.
